IRS announces reopening of Taxpayer Assistance Centers.

Last week, the IRS announced that, with the help of the Inflation Reduction Act funding they will be reopening the Taxpayers Assistance Centers that were previously closed. This action is part of the efforts the agency is making to improve its service to taxpayers with the IRS Strategic Operating Plan, which contemplates the use of funds from the IRA to provide more opportunities for in-person service across the country. The plan also includes the implementation of new Community Assistance Visits for those areas that don’t count with TACs near.
