Upcoming IRS webinar about tax-free student loan assistance programs.

Next week, the IRS will host a free 75-minute webinar to help taxpayers understand the tax-free educational assistance programs and how they can help student loan borrowers. On a recent hearing, IRS commissioner Daniel Werfel remarked on the availability of these programs, that can be offered by employers to help their employees pay their student loans. With the end of the student loan repayment pause approaching, these options may be a good opportunity to consider, both for employers and employees. The window of time to use these assistance programs to pay back student loans has been available since March 2020 and will continue until December 2025.
