The IRS and the RI Division of Taxation Extend Tax Filing & Payment for Rhode Island Taxpayers Until July 15, 2024 (Update).

Rhode Island taxpayers impacted by severe storms and flooding since January 9, 2024, may be eligible for tax relief. On April 4th, the IRS extended the federal tax filing and payment deadline to July 15th, 2024, exclusively for Kent, Providence, and Washington counties residents (see more information on the following link). In response, the RI Department of Revenue granted an extension until the same date for all individuals and entities with Rhode Island returns and payments typically due on April 15th, 2024. Importantly, this state-level extension applies to all Rhode Island residents, not just those in the counties specified by the IRS.
